The Art Explosion, Melt 2006

I wanted to upload more pictures, but Blogger's not working, or maybe I have too many pictures already or something, so here is what I was able to get up so far. I'll try to put more up later.

These are modeled after one of my pieces of artwork called "Moonlight Dip". They are Catherine Reed's cloth work.
Liz is cool. You won't find this in a yuppy household with a volvo and 2.3 kids.

Martha is my studio neighbor. I bought a cool Buddhist neclace from her the other day, that I love.
This is Ivy's work. She's pretty much the pro out of our colony here. I know there's other's, I guess I just don't know them.
Melissa is getting all crazy with her perspectives. She likes yellow and orange a lot.
Sri did a cool organic vs. mechanical painting at the left. He didn't want to sell it. He taught me a lot about framing and processes.
I'm not sure of this artist's name, buuuuut I guess he/she has a good thing going.

My cousin and I found an endangered North American Pond Turtle....

The turtle was just wandering it's way across a two lane road as two ton cars were zipping by it. I told my cousin Andrea to turn around and pull over and I would jump out and grab it. Before we could get out another car zoomed by, narrowly missing our little pal. We picked him up and took him back to the house. The whole time all he wanted to do was escape. This turtle moved a lot, and quickly. It was more like a lizard with a shell.

Anyway, today we went to an animal shelter hospital, and they confirmed it was a pond turtle, and it looked wild and they told us since it was endangered it was illegal to keep it and we should release it no more than three miles from where we found it. So we went driving around, and we managed to find a really nice creek in Walnut Creek, go figure, and here are the pictures of the realease. This guy ran fast toward the water. I hardly had any time to get my camera and take pictures. He jumped in the creek water, blew out his air, sunk to the bottom, and crawled along the bottom of the creek, getting away from us to the other side. He was under water for about 5 min, and we lost sight of him so we left. I miss him already though. Here is the pics.
